Much like the previous research section I am proud of the way I was able to put together a good amount of information.
Art
Ancient Greek art included a lot of building and sculptures. As a civilization that focused very much on religion, a lot of the art that they produced was about that. Occupations were passed down through a family, so over time more talent was formed and knowledge was gathered. Many art-oriented occupations included sculpting, building, painting and jewelry making. Much of the work these people did was create simple items specific to their craft, but sometimes the jobs ranged so far as to producing houses, public structures and decorating. Much of the sculpting was done with clay that the people got from Cape Colias, a few miles from the main area of work for the artists. Another form of sculpting was done with marble and ceramic that the people received from nearby cities and brought back to their work station. Building included the complex temples that were built in honour of each of the 12 major gods and goddesses of ancient Greece. Many builders also worked on the two Long Walls throughout the area, going from the city of Athens to that of Piraeus. Talented painters would use ochre and vermilion to produce red and yellow colours, allowing them to be more creative with their work. The nearly finished products would finally be set out in the sun until sturdy. Jewelers would create beautiful necklaces, bracelets and rings from silver, gold and bronze materials.
